Once all the dogs have been entered & the weigh in has been completed, the pull will commence. The classes are usually run in this order: 25lb, 35lb, 45lb, 55lb, 65lb, 80lb, 100lb, 130lb & unlimited. If it's a two day pull the order is reversed on the second day, unlimited down to the 25lb class. Novice class is run either at the start or after the competative classes have finished.
Handlers Meeting
Before the class begins a handlers meeting is held. This is where the judge will give a quick resume of the rules & answer any query's that arise. Also in what order the dogs will pull in & starting weight of the cart. The handlers will decide on what weight increments to go up in.
The Weight Pull
The first dog will be called to pull, the second dog called on deck & the third dog called in hold. Once a dog is called the handler can either pull the round or pass until the next weight increment. There can be unlimited passes until the chosen weight is called. After each dog has pulled or passed the cart goes to the next weight increment. Each round continues this way until the last dog has finished competing. The cart is then reset for the next weight class. This continues until all classes have finished.

Results are given, prizes are awarded & competitors who have earned titles are informed.
